Spa Day

Two years ago I received a gift card for a massage. I was saving it so I could go when we got our referral. Then I was saving so I could go right before we left for Ethiopia. THEN I was saving it for when we got back from Ethiopia. Well, we've been back. We've been back for something like 15 months.

I finally went yesterday.

It was wonderful except my masseuse resembled a chubby, red-haired Elvis but I got over that real quick. I find it so hard to relax. The entire time, when I should have been thinking of nothing, I was thinking of this....
-Did I shave? Oh God, I hope I shaved.
-Did I shower today? I hope I don't smell like macaroni & cheese and coffee.
-Oh God, I bet I do smell like coffee. Did I brush my teeth?
-I hope I don't have fuzzy lint in between my toes from my fuzzy boots. I bet I do have fuzzy lint between my toes!. I hope he doesn't notice.
-Is this oil going to make me break out?
-I wonder what T is doing? I hope she's not giving Grandma a hard time.
-I wonder if T will sleep through the night tonight? I hope I can sleep through the night tonight. I really need to sleep
-I shouldn't have eaten that Ethiopian food for lunch.

and so on...and so on....

Why is it so hard to relax???

Rosa sat so that Martin could walk.
Martin walked so that Barack could run.
Barack ran so that my children might fly.

Honey, I love that you are starting to put words together but please stop staring down the dark hallway and saying "People coming".

It really freaks me out.
