Maybe or somethin'

This is how T begins and ends practically every sentence lately.
Ok, probably not every sentence but gosh, it sure seems like it.
It's all...day...long.
It's making me a little nutty. Nutty like I want to pour a glass of wine by lunchtime.

Example:
"Maybe.... I get a lollipop....or somethin'"
"Maybe.... we go to the park...or somethin"
"Maybe... I can watch cartoons all day....or somethin'"

You get the idea....or somethin'

12 Books of Christmas

I read about this over at Mama Papaya's blog and absolutely loved the idea! So, we borrowed the idea for our family and hope to make it a family tradition :)

For each of the 12 days of Christmas, T will be receiving a new book from us and in return we will donate a book to Ethiopia Reads.

Wait, wasn't that the title of some weird, slightly dirty, David Duchovny series?
Anyways, I've been a bad blogger the past few days. I think the excitement of seeing New Moon was getting to me. More on that later!

Memaw purchased a pair of very fancy, very red patent leather Mary janes for T.


















She insists on wearing them morning, noon and night.






Yes, those are halloween socks paired with jammies.

If, for some strange reason, the shoes are not on her feet and sitting by the door she will repeatedly warn you to "Watch out for my fancy shoes!"
Come to think of it, she says it when they are on her feet as well :)

In other news, geeky geeky me went to the midnight showing of New Moon. Yep, it was packed with giddy 14 yr old girls...and a few giddy 30-somethings... Oh Edward!

I did get pulled over for speeding on the way home from the show. I havent been pulled over for 12 or so years! I think the cop must have felt sorry for the 32yr old woman headed home from the "new Twilight movie" at 3 am.....alone. He only gave me a warning. Whew! My geekiness got me outta that one ;)

Oops, I missed a day!!!

Yesterday we spent a ridiculously long time at the oil change place and then headed downtown to the zoo to meet some friends



And to hug some hippos



Apparently, Jayme gave this lady a ten instead of a one....



She was good but not THAT good :)

Today we picked up our little puppy pal and introduced her to her new mommy







My cousin came all of the way from North Carolina to give this little gal a home:)

And now I shall take a nap since I am working 3rd shift tonight. Blah.

NaBloPoMo Day 11: Tune in for bug watch 2009

Yep, still in a tizzy about lice over here. I took down T's twists today, picked through her hair like a little monkey, applied some jojoba oil and re-twisted. So far, so good. I really am hoping that all of the moisturizers and what-not I use on her will make her hair undesirable to the little bastards.
My lovely cousin swung a magnifying glass by today so I could bring my obsession to the next level.

NaBloPoMo Day 10: My worst fear!

I have a serious bug issue. Ick. I'm itchy just thinking about bugs so imagine my dismay when I walked into school today and there was a letter posted. A letter stating that head lice had been found...in T's classroom.
*shudder*
I freaked.
We raced home, stopping at Target for "supplies" just in case, and I proceeded the dreaded head check. It is not easy on a kid with thick hair who won't sit still, believe me.
I found nothing but we did a good hair washing and another serious check while putting her hair in twists. Oh, and I seriously washed practically everything I own in hot water. Even Coco got a bath last night ;)
Here I am, in total flip out mode but trying not to let on to T that I'm in total flip out mode.
Not an easy task.

NaBloPoMo Day 9: Is it only day 9? Oy vey!

Got up early, was almost late for work because T has decided that she can dress herself...which she can..sort of....if she has an abundance of time and it doesn't matter if her underpants are on backwards & inside out.....

Narrowly made it on time. Spent the day with this gal again



Picked up T from school and went to the mall to grab a quick dinner at Noodles & Co-I am addicted to their buttered noodles with Parmesan crusted chicken. Yes, I know I could make those at home for like, a dollar but they woulddnt be as yummy. Also swung by Sephora to purchase a starter kit of Bare Minerals because, let's face it, I'm over 30 and should probably start wearing some makeup.
Then it was off to an open house at T's school. Ryan met us there (he doesn't know about my expensive purchase at Sephora...shhhhh, don't tell!) It was nice for him to actually see her school since he hasn't had a chance to visit yet with all of his work travels. We had fun, T had fun, it was nice to hear about what is in store for this year.
Whew!

NaBloPoMo Day 8: America's Next Top Model

Well...ok, not really. We finally took T to have professional photos taken. Yeah, I know. I'm a bad mom. She's only been home for what? Just over 2 years and we are finally getting around to having photos taken? Time just seemed to slip right by so fast and before I knew it she wasn't a baby anymore.
Anyway, we went to the picture people and they did a FANTASTIC job! I love the way they turned out! I will post 'em as soon as I can.

Here she is afterwards....all hopped up on fruit snacks.

Hmmm, I don't have much for ya today. I worked all day, T had a great day at school. I did get to meet the famous "Desiree" today. She is the only kid that T refers to by name, everyone else is just "kid". I guess this means they are BFFs? Too cute :)

We also had to swing by the Apple store this evening because my phone was acting all wonky and y'know what? They just gave me a new phone! Just like that. No questions asked. I love Apple :)

NaBloPoMo Day 2: Update

I know I have totally neglected the blog and I blame facebook.

Darn you facebook for sucking up all of my free time! Darn you!!!

Let's see, what is going on in the life of Tiny....

We have been potty trained for 6 months. She still wears a pull up overnight but in reality, she would probably do okay in underpants...it's really my sheer laziness that is keeping her in a pull up. The thought of changing sheets in the middle of the night is really too much for me to bear. No thanks.

School, aka daycare is going really well. She attends 2 days a week for about 9 hours and loves it. They just moved her up a room, so now she is with the 3-4 yr olds and is doing great. She is such a talker and enjoys having conversations, she definitely fit right in with that age group. I love that she comes home from school with some new song or skill. Her new thing is setting the table and clearing her dishes when she is finished eating. She really enjoys helping out and often says "Mama, you sooooo proud for me!" after she does something. It's cute :)

She has also become obsessed with this guy

We have watched it daily for the past few weeks and she knows the words to almost all the songs and knows quite a bit of the dialogue.

It's hilarious.

I guess I would much rather have her obsessed with this than the dreaded princesses ;)

Bad Blogger

I've been a baaaaad blogger. I sometimes forget that I even have a blog since I spend too much time on facebook...oops. Sorry!

Much has happened this late summer/early fall. For starters, T started "school" last week! I say "school" since it is really daycare but don't tell her that ;)
The clinic I work for is now 24hr, so I had the opportunity to work some day shifts...which I took, even though I love being a pseudo-SAHM, because we are broke. But I digress...the program I entered her in is fabulous and extremely diverse in both students and staff, but most importantly, T LOVES it. She had a blast and can't wait to go back.

We are also completely potty trained and have been for 5 months. She still wears a pull-up at night but that's no big deal.....Speaking of nighttime...we have had some major issues. For the past 2 months or so, T has been sleeping with us, or mostly me since Ryan travels during the week. I know it's all my doing but now I'm trying to un-do it and it sucks. I was actually going to start "sleep training" her tonight but she came down with her first daycare cold and it's probably best to wait until she's not so under the weather. I'll keep you updated on my lack of sleep......
