BOO on NBC!!!!

I am pissed.
Royally pissed.

NBC is airing a Mother's Day special this weekend- America's Favorite Mom. Maybe you've seen the commercials? Nice idea-people nominate their favorite Mom and the winner gets something fantastic. Good ol' Donny & Marie are hosting.

The show has categories of moms to vote for. There is the "Military Mom", "Working Mom", "Single Mom" and "Non-Mom Mom".

Wait.

What's a "Non-Mom Mom"?
Well, I guess I would qualify as one since the shows only adoptive mom is in the "Non-Mom Mom" category.

So, according to NBC, I am a "Non-Mom Mom".

And you may be one as well.

Aaaarrgghh, I am so mad I could scream. I sent a *nice* letter to the folks at NBC and will be following it up with one to their sponsor, Teleflora.

Just when I thought people couldn't get any dumber.....

The essence of this category still focuses on a grandparent, neighbor, step mom, or mom to adopted or foster children, each one raising and loving a child.This show of insensitivity on our part was in no way intended and we deeply apologize for any concern or distress we may have caused. It was always our intent to salute and celebrate all moms.In closing, all of us at Teleflora would like to offer our sincerest best wishes to all the many women throughout the world who have worked so hard and given so much to earn the name "Mom."

I am still a little peeved that adoptive moms need their own separate category but I am glad that they responded so quickly.
